Keyboard coloring page
A big keyboard to color, with five small missions: the letters in a name, the home row, the bumps on F and J, the vowels and a count. For preschool and kindergarten, and for any child about to meet a real keyboard.
Prints on Letter or A4. Print as many as you need, for home or class.
How to use it
- Read the missions aloud. Most children this age are not reading yet, and they do not need to be.
- Do the first mission with the real keyboard beside the paper, and find each letter of the name on both.
- Finish the third mission at the computer: let them feel the bumps on F and J with a fingertip.
- The answer to the last mission is ten.
With the games
Key Finder (ages 3–6, free, no account) makes one key glow on a keyboard map and waits for the child to find it on the real one: this sheet, on screen. Big Keys (3–6, free) teaches Space, Enter, Backspace and the arrows, and Letter Twins (4–6, free) pairs lowercase and capital letters. The youngest start on the keyboard playground, where every key does something and there is nothing to read.
