Share one class link and every child plays — no student accounts, no passwords, no email addresses. A class board and a printable report show how each child is doing. One link, the whole class
A free account makes one class link, for the 60-second typing test. On the Family or Family Plus plan you can have up to 20, each opening the typing test, the keyboard playground or one of the fifteen free learning games (on the Classroom plan, any of the 26 paid learning games too). Children open the link on a Chromebook, laptop or tablet and start playing. Then choose how much you want to track:
- Just the link — opens the activity for the whole class. No names, and nothing stored about the children.
- Live session — each child types their first name when they open the link.
- Saved roster — you enter the children’s first names once, and each child taps their own name.

The class board and the printable report
The class board shows each child’s first name and best score. Anyone who has the class link can see it, so share the link only with your class. Your class console adds how many tries each child has had and when they were last seen, and the class report — print it or save it as a PDF — lists each child’s tries, best and average speed, best accuracy or best score, and last seen, plus class averages.
The Classroom plan
With the Classroom plan ($14.99/month or $99/year, per teacher), a class link can open any of the 26 paid learning games, and the children still play with no accounts. What does a class link store about my students?
With Just the link, nothing about the children. With Live session or Saved roster: each child's first name as it was typed (it is free text, so ask for first names only), typing-test words per minute and accuracy (never the text typed), a count of taps or key presses per play session in the games and the playground (never which keys), and when each child was last seen. It is kept until you clear the scores, remove a name, delete the class or ask us to delete your account, and classes unused for 12 months are deleted automatically.
Can I still add a profile for each child?
Yes. You can add a profile for each child on your account, set one class goal (letters, numbers, colors, shapes, interactions or sessions) and see each child's progress toward it. Class links are the quicker path for most classrooms, because children need nothing set up in advance.
Is TotType good for preschool, elementary and middle-school classrooms?
