What your child learns

Why it works at this age

This is the first real typing test, and it is deliberately last. Full sentences bring capitals, punctuation and spaces into play, and a sixty-second timer with a words-per-minute count gives a six-to-eight-year-old the same honest number adults use. Accuracy is tracked too, so speed cannot hide mistakes.

Tips for parents

Frequently asked questions

Is Sentence Dash a real typing test?

Yes. It measures words-per-minute and accuracy on real sentences, just like a standard typing test, scaled for ages 6 to 8.

How can my child improve their score?

Regular short sessions build speed and accuracy. Accuracy matters as much as speed — mistakes lower the score.
