Arrow Maze — a free learning game on TotType

Arrow Maze is the only TotType game that teaches the arrow keys — a real keyboard skill on its own. Your child steers an explorer through a freshly generated maze using the arrow keys (or WASD, or on-screen arrows), collecting letters to spell a word — in the right order — then reaching the door. Every round is a brand-new maze and a new word, pulled from a big bank that grows from three-letter words up to five, so it keeps getting bigger and harder. It folds spatial problem-solving, reading, and real spelling into one adventure.

How to play Arrow Maze

Press the arrow keys to move through the maze. Read the word at the top and walk over its letters in spelling order — only the correct next letter is collected, and decoy letters (in later rounds) are ignored. Spell the whole word and the door unlocks; reach it to clear the maze. Each round generates a new maze and a new word.

Frequently asked questions

Does Arrow Maze need a keyboard?

It works best with a keyboard (arrow keys or WASD), but on a tablet or phone there are on-screen arrow buttons, so any device works.

What does Arrow Maze teach?

Arrow-key navigation and spatial problem-solving, plus letter recognition and spelling, since the letters you collect spell a real word.
