Letter Catcher — a free learning game on TotType

Letter Catcher is a falling-letters game that turns letter recognition into a gentle arcade game. Letters drift down from the top of the screen, and your child catches each one by pressing the matching key on the keyboard or tapping the on-screen letter. It’s the bridge between knowing the alphabet and finding letters on a real keyboard.

How to play Letter Catcher

Watch the letters fall. When you see one, press that key on the keyboard — or tap it on the on-screen keyboard on a tablet — before it reaches the ground. Each catch is celebrated, and the pace gently picks up as your child gets better.

Frequently asked questions

Does my child need a physical keyboard?

No. On tablets and phones an on-screen keyboard appears automatically, so kids can tap the matching letter. A physical keyboard works great too.

What age is Letter Catcher for?

Ages 2 to 4, when children are learning to recognize letters and locate them on a keyboard.
