Missile Guard

Tap or click anywhere in the sky (or aim with the arrow keys and press Space) to fire an interceptor that bursts where you aimed. Meteors caught in the burst are destroyed; one that lands knocks out a city. Shots are limited per wave, and a cleared wave pays a bonus for every city and shot left and rebuilds one city.

Missile Guard — a free online arcade game on TotType

Missile Guard is a city-defence game in the mould of the arcade classic: six cities on the ground, one battery in the middle, and meteors streaking down from the top of the screen. Tap where you want an interceptor to burst — it takes a moment to get there, so aim ahead of a meteor, not at it — and everything inside the burst is destroyed. Each wave gives you a limited stock of shots; clear it and you bank a bonus for every city still standing and every shot unused, and one ruined city is rebuilt. Waves get faster and denser, and the game ends when the last city falls. It's free in any browser with no download — the arcade just needs a free parent account with a verified email.

How to play Missile Guard

Tap or click anywhere in the sky (or aim with the arrow keys and press Space) to fire an interceptor that bursts where you aimed. Meteors caught in the burst are destroyed; one that lands knocks out a city. Shots are limited per wave, and a cleared wave pays a bonus for every city and shot left and rebuilds one city.

Tips & tricks

  • Aim where the meteor will be when the interceptor arrives — just below it on its path — rather than where it is now.
  • One well-placed burst can take out two or three meteors that are falling close together; wait for them to bunch.
  • Unused shots are worth points at the end of the wave, so don't spray at empty sky.

Frequently asked questions

How do you play Missile Guard?

Tap or click the sky to fire an interceptor to that point; it bursts there and destroys any meteor inside the burst. Stop the meteors before they reach your six cities. Arrow keys move the aim and Space fires if you prefer a keyboard.

What happens when the shots run out?

You wait for the wave to finish. Shots refill at the start of every wave, and a cleared wave pays 5 points per shot you didn't need plus 100 for every city standing.

Do destroyed cities come back?

One city is rebuilt after every wave you clear. The game ends only when all six are gone at once.
