Ghost Hunt
Move your flashlight with the mouse, a finger or the arrow keys (WASD too). In the dark you only see the ghosts' glowing eyes; keep the beam on one until its ring fills and it flies into your jar. Shy blue ghosts run from the light, golden ones are worth the most and leave if you're slow. Find batteries the same way: the hunt ends when the light runs out.
Ghost Hunt — a free online arcade game on TotType
Ghost Hunt is a Halloween flashlight game: a dark haunted house, a beam of light that follows your mouse, your finger or the arrow keys, and friendly ghosts hiding in the shadows. In the dark you only see their glowing eyes. Hold the light on a ghost until its ring fills and it whooshes into your jar. Blue ghosts are shy and run from the light; a golden ghost is rare, quick and worth the most, and it leaves if you're too slow. Catch ghosts one after another to build a combo worth up to triple points. The battery drains all the time, a little faster as the hunt goes on, so find batteries in the dark to keep the light on; the hunt ends when the flashlight runs out. It's free in any browser with no download — anyone can try a demo run with no account, and a free parent account with a verified email unlocks unlimited play.

How to play Ghost Hunt
Move your flashlight with the mouse, a finger or the arrow keys (WASD too). In the dark you only see the ghosts' glowing eyes; keep the beam on one until its ring fills and it flies into your jar. Shy blue ghosts run from the light, golden ones are worth the most and leave if you're slow. Find batteries the same way: the hunt ends when the light runs out.
Tips & tricks
- Look for eyes first: every ghost in the dark shows two glowing dots, so sweep the room and steer toward them.
- Trap a shy blue ghost against a wall: with nowhere left to run, it can't escape the light.
- Grab a battery as soon as you see one: the light lasts longer, and the hunt gets harder the longer it goes.
Frequently asked questions
How do you play Ghost Hunt?
Move your flashlight with the mouse, a finger or the arrow keys (WASD works too). Keep the beam on a ghost until the ring around it fills, and it flies into your jar. Find batteries the same way to keep the light on. The hunt ends when the battery is empty.
Is Ghost Hunt scary?
No. The house is dark, but the ghosts are friendly: they smile, blush and float about. There are no jump scares and no scary sounds, only soft musical notes when you catch one.
How is Ghost Hunt scored?
A white ghost scores 10, a shy blue one 25 and a golden one 60. Catches less than three seconds apart build a combo: x1.5, then x2, up to x3. With no batteries a hunt lasts about 50 seconds; every battery you find adds light.
Can I play Ghost Hunt online with friends?
Yes. Open Ghost Hunt and choose Play online to join everyone playing it right now: up to 4 players a round, all starting together, and the highest score wins. When nobody else is on, computer players marked as bots hold the empty seats, and a real player always takes a bot's place. To play only with friends, make a private room and share its 4-character code. Online play needs a free parent account with a verified email, and players see only each other's nicknames and scores: there is no chat.
